UNDERSTANDING SONY BLINKING CODES

may na incounter akong ganito Sony Projection Tv nakalimutan k lang yung exact model.

trouble: sometimes working but sometimes not working.. if in not working mode "nag biblink sya ng 10".. walang raster pero umiilaw ang heater ng tatlong gun (R, G, & B)..

so anung nangyare sa unit master pakman?
nagawa ba at ano ang pinalitan mo na parts?

I used to work on Sony projectors tv when I was still with Sony, way back in 1988. Yun yung me individual 3 mini crts with lens for for green, blue and red color outputs. As far as I know, it doesn't apply regarding Sony Blinking codes. Lately na lang kasi in-apply yun when they decided to bring out yung FD flat screen crt tv models na in a way, compare to the original trinitron tvs early days, eh madaling masira yung picture tube (picture tube design is not that superb). Di ba nga, we encounter that the red led standby power indicator simply blinks continously kapag weak na yung picture tube? One remedy is to put step down transformer to set the heater voltage to higher voltage, up to 9 volts para gumana yung picture tube. Those were the days na overkill ang design ng mga Sony tvs using FD picture tubes na bakit kelangan pang i-monitor ng circuitry yung balance ng 3 guns and if not, blangko ang picture as black lang. Mas ok p early designs na kahit kulay berde, pula o asul na lang dominant sa color ng tv mo, napapanuoran at napapakinabangan pa tv mo.

One more thing, with today's LED and LCD tvs coming out, sino pa kaya magtyatyaga manood sa projection type tvs na need to be 90 degrees angle at the center of the picture screen para ma view ng maganda? Saka kelangan patay ilaw o madilim ang environment. Same as with the what so called plasma tv, na obsolete na sa great technological development ng LED designs. Matakaw din sa kuryente, as yung power rating ng projector tvs eh baka above 100 watts.

But for the curiosity of troubleshooting and reparing it, yes, kahit ako baka ma challenge pa ko paganahin eto.
